At CNU 34, we are thrilled to bring over 100 sessions, tours, workshops, and other social events to our attendees to fulfill continuing education requirements, provide networking opportunities, and inspire the multidisciplinary practice of New Urbanism through on-the-ground learning. Details of the content types you can except at CNU 34 are as follows:

Tours and Mobile Learning

CNU 34 tours will cover the region on foot, bike, bus, and even in a canoe. Check out the in-the-field learning opportunities curated by the Local Host Committee at this link, all of which are ticketed separately and available through the general registration. Already registered and want to add a tour?  Go through the general registration form again, and on the second page of the registration form, please select for the "Specialty Programming, Tours, or Special Event ONLY" ticket under the "Event Admissions" section, then select your tours under the "Event Session" section. More information on registration prices and deadlines can be found here

Specialty Programming

On Tuesday, May 12th, we are providing unique learning opportunities for specific audiences. Each is ticketed separately for only $100, includes at least 7 hours of continuing education, lunch, and a networking happy hour.

Builders & Developers Workshop

CNU 34 invites builders and real estate developers to a full day of specialized training and networking designed to support their critical role in shaping walkable, vibrant communities. Attendees will gain practical insights from leading practitioners on every stage of development—from concept and urban tuning to financing, neighborhood main streets, and attainable housing strategies. Interactive breakout sessions and expert panels will provide actionable strategies for aligning architectural, urban, and market objectives while increasing profitability and community impact. Join your peers for this unique opportunity to deepen your expertise, explore innovative approaches, and be part of advancing New Urbanism on the ground.

CNU-A Bootcamp

Designed for both newcomers and experienced practitioners, the CNU-A Bootcamp at CNU 34 offers a full day of immersive learning in the principles and practice of New Urbanism. Participants will explore everything from foundational urban theory and historical precedents to the physical shaping of streets, buildings, and public spaces. The workshop also covers codes, zoning, and policy tools, plus community engagement, development economics, and strategies for equitable, walkable, and sustainable neighborhoods. Attendees will leave equipped with practical knowledge and actionable insights to apply New Urbanist principles in their projects and prepare for CNU-A accreditation. Every bootcamp registration comes with a printed study guide and a discount to take the CNU-A exam in June (or whenever you’re ready).

Local Government Day

CNU 34 will feature a dedicated Local Government Officials Day offering a full slate of sessions designed specifically for municipal staff and elected leaders. This tailored programming will connect local officials with expert insights on advancing walkable, equitable, and resilient urbanism through zoning reform, transportation planning, land‑use economics, and innovative financing strategies—all grounded in practical case studies from cities across the country. Participants will also have opportunities to engage with peers, learn from experienced practitioners, and explore tools and approaches that support community‑building and impactful policy implementation. Whether you’re deepening your expertise or seeking strategies to navigate political and institutional challenges, this day will equip local leaders with actionable ideas for shaping better places.
