Job Description:
One full-time position is available. This position will be filled at the senior or principal level depending on the successful candidate's qualifications. Pay range is $70,000 - $100,000 annually. Application deadline is January 21, 2016 at 5 p.m. Pacific Time.
Division Summary:
The Resource and Project Development Division works with partners to develop shared investment strategies that help communities build their downtowns, main streets and corridors by leveraging public and private investments that implement the region's 2040 Growth Concept. Given the complexity and cost of higher density and mixed use development projects, planning and zoning alone cannot stimulate the private investments needed to build dynamic communities near transit. To help overcome these barriers, the Transit Oriented Development (TOD) Program invests in public private partnerships to build projects in areas where the market is not yet strong enough to support these higher cost development forms. Related TOD Program activities include land acquisition for TOD, working with developers on public private partnership projects, and station area planning and technical assistance to local jurisdictions to identify and remove barriers to compact development as resources allow.
Position Summary:
Senior TOD Development Project Manager
The Senior TOD Development Manager performs a variety of complex projects and assignments for the Transit Oriented Development (TOD) Program, as measured by a combination of the project's complexity, scope, impact on the community and the incumbent's level of autonomy. TOD project management requires independent project management, analysis of real estate market conditions and development economics, negotiation of public-private financing agreements, and sensitive communications with the public and outside agencies. The position recommends departmental policy and works independently with minimal supervisory direction and guidance. Supervision is received from the Development Center Manager.
Principal TOD Development Project Manager
Performs work as detailed above, but the Principal TOD Development Manager performs a variety of the most challenging projects and assignments for the Transit Oriented Development (TOD) Program, as measured by a combination of the project's complexity, scope, impact on the community and the incumbent's level of autonomy. The position recommends departmental policy and makes departmental commitments for the TOD Program with little supervisory direction and guidance.
