Planned giving builds a legacy that supports the mission of Congress for the New Urbanism
BEQUESTS AND ESTATE PLAN GIFTS
You may make a bequest or gift through your estate by including a provision in your will or living trust or by naming Congress for the New Urbanism as a beneficiary of a retirement plan or life insurance policy. To do so, consult your attorney to add a charitable gift to your will. If you’ve included CNU in your will, please let us know so that we may be able to acknowledge your intent.
DONOR-ADVISED FUNDS (DAF)
A DAF is a centralized vehicle for charitable giving that makes it easy for donors to dedicate funds to support their favorite nonprofit organization, like CNU. It also provides an operationally convenient and tax-efficient method for donors to manage their charitable giving. Contributions to DAFs are tax deductible. If you would like to make a gift to CNU using a donor-advised fund, contact your financial advisor or email madams@cnu.org for more information.
QUALIFIED CHARITABLE DISTRIBUTIONS (QCD)
A QCD is a distribution of funds from your IRA (other than a SEP or SIMPLE IRA) directly to a qualified charitable organization, like CNU. Because the gift goes directly to the charity without passing through your hands, the dollar amount of the gift may be excluded from your taxable income up to a maximum of $100,000 annually, with some exceptions. Please consult your tax advisor for information regarding your specific exceptions.
