About the Role:

The Interiors Team Lead is a driven, disciplined designer who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. This role requires exceptional technical knowledge, problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage a team working on medium- to large-scale, complex projects.

The ideal candidate brings high-end hospitality experience, excels at mentoring others, and maintains strong interpersonal skills to build trusted client relationships. Proficiency in building codes, technical detailing, and coordination with consultants is essential. Experience in mixed-use and multi-family projects is a plus.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

1. Practice Interior Design at a high level

  • Bring unique strengths that elevate project quality and client experience.

2. Lead and manage the Interiors team

  • Oversee team schedules, project deliverables, and core processes.
  • Manage multiple complex projects with support from senior leadership.

3. Own client relationships

  • Build and maintain positive, proactive communication with clients.
  • Identify and communicate coordination needs, issues, and potential risks.

4. Oversee project capacity and workflow

  • Manage project staffing, workflow, and budgeted hours.
  • Communicates team performance, needs, and conflicts.

5. Resolve conflicts and navigate challenges

  • Address internal and external issues with clarity and professionalism.

6. Coach and mentor team members

  • Conduct quarterly performance reviews.
  • Support professional growth across the Interiors team and the firm.

Requirements:

  • Experience in high-end, custom hospitality (retail, restaurants, hotels), multi-family, and mixed-use design. Understanding of how engineering trades, consultants, budgets, and schedules impact architectural and interior design.
  • Proficient understanding of construction drawings and detailing for projects of varying scales.
  • A driven, determined, and self-disciplined approach to achieving results.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Collaborative team player with the ability to lead, mentor, and inspire others.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, adaptable, proactive, and capable of managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Ability to travel as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design from an accredited program.
  • 8+ years of design leadership experience.
  • Furniture experience preferred but not required.
  • Licensed Interior Designer.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD and Revit.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Active IIDA/ASID Member.
