Event Description:

Gain a practical, working knowledge of the most advanced collaboration tools and techniques used by the leaders in community planning. The purpose of this training is to teach participants how to design the right process for their projects that will result in the best solutions with broad support. Working in small teams using a case study format, participants learn how to direct a collaborative team project start-up meeting to assess and design the process for a wide range of project types. The NCI Charrette System™ addresses complex planning problems, engaging disparate stakeholders, and creating feasible, innovative design solutions quickly.

The NCI Charrette System™ sets the standard for public involvement and planning, and will help you:

  • Work efficiently to cut down on “collaboration overload”
  • Take advantage of the latest high-tech tools to support each phase of the process
  • Save time and money by reducing rework through the short feedback cycle work flow
  • Learn the essential tools for assessing and planning a project using an NCI Charrette, including: Guiding Principles, Objectives and Measures, Stakeholder Analysis, Charrette System Roadmap, Charrette Ready Plan and Charrette Schedule
