City Center Program Manager

The position of City Center Program Manager provides a rare opportunity to be a significant contributor in guiding the city’s future. Lynnwood is a dynamic and growing city located only 15 miles north of Seattle.  With a designated Regional Growth Center and City Center, plans are place for the City to become the largest urban center in this area.  Sound Transit's Lynnwood Link Light Rail is approved and under design for extension to the City with service starting in 2024. Located in Lynnwood’s City Center, the light rail station will provide frequent and reliable connections to the University of Washington, downtown Seattle, SeaTac Airport and Bellevue/Redmond for a projected 18,000 daily boarders. Redevelopment of Lynnwood’s City Center into a walkable, transit-oriented urban center is a top city priority with plans in place including zoning for dense mixed-use development, streetscape standards, design guidelines, infrastructure investments and development incentives.

The City of Lynnwood's population is planned to grow from a current population of 37,000 to 55,000 by 2035. The City has a diversified tax base with economic concentrations in the City Center, Alderwood Mall and environs, and automotive.  Rapid growth is expected to occur with the arrival of the light rail extension. City government has earned a reputation for being a progressive regional leader.  The Economic Development Department is staffed with professionals who strongly support our community's vision and Economic Development Action Plan; managing projects across the spectrum of development, business services, tourism, urban planning, marketing, infrastructure, policy and more.  The City has a reputation for being a great place to work, supportive of professional development and placing a value on internal promotion and growth.
