Becoming part of CNU through its PlaceBuilding Solutions means access to thousands of urbanists, designers, transportation engineers, planners, and other municipal officials with similar experiences to your own.

The most intensive opportunity for networking is at our annual Congress, where many of our more than 2,000 members, including the founders of the New Urbanist movement, and hundreds of newcomers to New Urbanism gather for four days of discussion, interaction, local tours, and the City As Platform workshops, which get urbanists out of the conference room and into local contexts for hands-on sessions to help change key places in the host city.

PlaceBuilding Solutions participants also have full access to the professional network of the City Building Exchange, a two-day training and networking opportunity each spring.

In addition, throughout the year, CNU hosts summits and councils on pressing issues for the New Urbanist movement; this year’s meetings have focused on transportation and climate change. These smaller meetings are an excellent means for drilling down deeper into specific issues, working alongside the foremost practitioners in the New Urbanist movement.
