Spotsylvania County developer Tricord Inc. is pursuing plans to transform 400 acres of Virginia farmland into a new urban Rappahannock riverfront community to be known as Nottingham Farm. The site, located in New Post, at the intersection of US 17 and State Road 2, is presently zoned industrial, reflecting its most recent use for sand and gravel mining. Because it lies in the county’s designated growth area, it can be rezoned for up to 1,200 homes, along with businesses and parks.
In April, Andres Duany of Duany Plater-Zyberk & Co. hosted a week-long charrette encompassing nine meetings to gather public input.
