The Seaside Prize will be awarded May 30

The Seaside Prize will be awarded May 30 jointly to Peter Calthorpe, Elizabeth Moule, Stefanos Polyzoides and Daniel Solomon — all of whom are founders of the Congress for the New Urbanism (CNU). The prize is annually awarded by the Seaside Institute in Seaside, Florida, to individuals or organizations making significant contributions to the quality and character of communities. The other two CNU founders, Seaside designers Andres Duany and Elizabeth Plater-Zyberk, were awarded the prize in 1993. Other winners have been Mayor of Charleston Joseph Riley (1997); Jane Jacobs and Leon Krier (1996); the City of Portland, Oregon (1995); Christopher Alexander (1994); and Vincent Scully (1993).
