The Planning and Zoning Committee in Wildwood,

The Planning and Zoning Committee in Wildwood, Missouri, has given preliminary approval to a $35 million, mixed-use development as part of its new urbanist plan for Wildwood Town Center. Incorporated only five years ago, Wildwood is a rapidly growing city that turned to new urbanist planners Jonathan Barnett and Duany-Plater Zyberk & Company to check the growth of scattered commercial development. The new proposal was presented by Koman Properties Inc. of Clayton, Missouri, and MPL Investments LLC of St. Louis. Located on 15 acres, the development is slated to include approximately 60,000 square feet of office and retail space and 170 apartments. The developers have hired Suttle Mindlin Architects of Clayton to do the building design. The city’s stringent review process forced Koman Properties to submit nearly 20 different site plans for the development. u
