Members get their say

CNU members are the key to making CNU.org as accurate, up-to-date, and informative as possible. Members can provide information about themselves and their practices. They will update information about development projects. They will upload new events, job listings, book titles, and photographs. CNU staff will administer the site, checking postings for accuracy, ensuring consistency, and keeping everything flowing smoothly. CNU's goal is to get more New Urbanism built by providing information about what has been built so far, about the people involved, and about cutting-edge practices.
Personal Info. As a member, you can log in to add or edit personal information. You can provide one mailing address for CNU materials, and have separate contact information listed on the web. You can enter and update your biography. You can mark your fields of expertise, whether you are available to speak at events, and where.
Project Sheet Database. If you have a project to upload, go to CNU.org, log in, and click “Add new project.” Once you have entered project information, CNU staff will ensure that it looks right for the site, and will approve it for publishing. As the member who uploaded the first information, you will have the special ability to edit that project as time goes on. Still, CNU staff will retain final editorial control over the entire site.
Imagebank. As with other areas of the site, members have the ability to upload pictures. CNU staff will create thumbnails of all new images and will edit the captions. Photographers with images for sale can post their contact information on the site, so that site users are able to contact the photographer to purchase a high-resolution image.
Getting involved. Members interested in helping CNU with further research should check out the “Task Forces” and “Initiatives” areas of the site. They outline CNU’s ongoing research efforts, and offer guidance for people who want to participate.
Note: CNU members who have an e-mail address on file with CNU should have received an e-mail from us containing login information. Members who don’t have an e-mail on file, or who for any reason have not received an introductory e-mail from CNU, should contact the office by e-mail only at cnuinfo@cnu.org.
