Rosemary Beach, a 105-acre traditional neighborhood development

Rosemary Beach, a 105-acre traditional neighborhood development (TND) in Walton County, Florida, continues to rack up impressive sales. Out of 195 lots available so far, 145 have been sold. Lot sale prices have ranged from $70,000 to more than a million dollars. The second section of Rosemary Beach, north of Route 30A, was planned by Duany Plater-Zyberk (DPZ) & Company in late 1997 (see map of the entire project). Thirteen lots have been sold already in that section, which was opened up for development 18 months ahead of schedule. The first buildings in the town center — a town hall and a boarding house — will be under construction in 1998. The town center will consist mostly of three-story mixed use buildings and two- and three-story live/work units, grouped around two mirror squares on the north and south side of Route 30A. The squares will be named after the late Charles Barrett, the highly talented architect who worked for DPZ and drew many beautiful renderings of Rosemary Beach.
