The City of Bradenton, Florida is looking for a senior planner to complete our Community Development Department team. Typical day to day work will include helping customers with zoning and land use questions, reviewing plans for compliance with the code, and conducting site reviews.

The City adopted a form based code in 2011 parallel to its conventional zoning  code. It applies primarily to the city's urban core and adjacent historic neighborhoods. The ideal candidate will have experience implementing and interpreting a form based code and will be able to review plans and explain the code to customers. The code also contains architectural standards, so a basic understanding of architectural styles is preferred. Accreditation with the Congress of the New Urbanism and completion of the three course series on form based codes given by the Form Based Code Institute is highly desired.
