All I want for Christmas is urban mobility
This has been a big year for bike-sharing, bike lanes, and all manner of bicycle-related urban improvements.
That emphasis is now showing up in smart growth holiday offerings as well. The Coalition for Smarter Growth, in the the Washington, DC, region, is offering reduced-price memberships in Capital BikeShare or credits on ZipCar use to those who join the Coalition.
"We know you have lots of holiday parties to go to -- arrive in style on one of the new Capital Bikeshare bikes," says the Coalition in a mass e-mail. A limited number of Coalition supporters will get a one-year membership in the recently established bike-share program for $40 instead of the usual $75.
Alternatively, Coalition members can get a $15 credit on Zipcar use, or $60 off of an $85 one-year Zipcar membership. The offers run through December 8.
