Job Description:

Build your career and transform a community simultaneously! There is no other opportunity for planning professionals quite like the City of Marina (pop. 20,370). You can play a vital role in the transformation of this perfectly positioned Monterey Peninsula community along California’s Central Coast. New housing, retail, commercial and quality of life amenities that embrace the ideal natural setting of this rare coastal community are all in the works. As part of a team of seven, the Planning Manager will support the Community Development Director in carrying out the responsibilities of a busy Community Development Department.

The ideal candidate will be an energetic hands-on manager who thrives in a fast-paced dynamic environment. He/she will be well-versed in current as well as advance planning and display an outstanding customer orientation. Superior interpersonal and communication skills will be expected. A minimum of five (5) years of planning experience and a Bachelor’s degree are required. Supervisory experience is highly desirable.
