Who We Need

The City of Detroit Planning and Development Department (PDD), together with the Knight Foundation, are seeking applications from ambitious multi-disciplinary planning and design teams.

Three chosen teams will create future visions for three commercial sites in the city. In light of their ideas, the teams will then partner with PDD to explore potential revisions to the City’s zoning and building regulations.

Teams' composition should reflect the interdisciplinary nature of the Pink Zoning Detroit project. Planners and designers should partner with related professionals, such as landscape architects, policy analysts, historic preservationists, or other specialists.

Teams with a demonstrable connection to the Detroit Metropolitan Area are strongly encouraged to apply (see RFQ text for more information).

What We Offer

Three successful teams will each receive a $19,000 stipend, to cover project costs and travel.
