Entry Level Land Planner/Urban Designer
Description
Seeking an entry-level Land Planner/Urban Designer with a commitment to creating mixed-use, compact, walkable neighborhoods that promote place-making, environmental sustainability, and population health. We believe in an inextricable relationship between Planning, Urban Design, and Architecture.
Qualifications
- Professional Degree in Landscape Architecture, Architecture, or Urban Design
- Software proficiency: PhotoShop, InDesign, Illustrator, SketchUp, AutoCAD, Word, Excel
- Proficiency in graphic communication
- Hand drawing ability
- Solid technical foundation, including grading
- Good design sense
- Experience with regulatory codes and entitlement processes a plus
- Familiarity with various building typologies a plus
Responsibilities
Performs design and technical tasks as part of a team for both private sector and public sector clients. Type of work includes:
- Feasibility Studies for Land Development (Mixed-use and Residential).
- Visioning Documents
- Conceptual Site Plans
- Presentation Drawings
- Site Plans
- Entitlement Support
- Neighborhood Plans
- Design Guidelines
- Form-based Codes
- 3-D Modeling
- Close coordination with in-house Architects
