Location: Temple, TX
Temple, Texas, is ideally situated along the Central Texas technology corridor with San Antonio and Austin to the south, and Dallas and Fort Worth to the north. It is a principal city in the Killeen-Temple- Fort Hood Metropolitan Statistical Area, which has an estimated population of 428,000. The city offers an exceptional quality of life to its approximately 79,286 residents.
The Performance Excellence team is part of the City Manager’s Department and is responsible for promoting quality, innovation, and distinction throughout all City operations. Staff leads the process of creating a City-wide work environment in which employees are enabled to perform to the best of their abilities; analyzing current mindsets and behaviors juxtaposed with anticipated future requirements, and implementing changes as needed; and developing workplace initiatives to keep our employees safe and accident free.
Reporting to the Director of Performance Excellence, the Equity Manager develops, implements, and administers the City’s diversity, equity, and inclusion policies, practices, and training program. He or she will collaborate with City leadership, City commissions, community stakeholders, and City staff to establish diversity, equity, and inclusion as a shared value and operating principle across the organization. This position requires a bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university. Three years of increasingly responsible experience in the administration of government, community, or educational programs related to equity is required. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
The salary range for the position is $63,648-$72,405.
