Just Sustainabilities in Policy, Planning, and Practice

In his keynote, Julian Agyeman will outline the concept of 'just sustainabilities,' arguing for the urgency of integrating social justice with sustainability objectives, to create a more just, rounded, and equity-focused definition of sustainability and sustainable development. Based on his research, Agyeman will offer examples of just sustainabilities in policy, planning, and practice focusing on ideas of ‘complete streets’ and urban design for all; planning for intercultural cities; urban agriculture and food justice; and Sharing Cities as a more relational concept than the largely transactional notion of the sharing economy.
