Job Description:

Perfectly positioned for massive transformation, the City of Marina (20,370) is the youngest city on the Monterey Peninsula along California’s Central Coast. This is the only municipality on the west coast that offers the opportunity to reinvent itself on such massive scale. New housing, retail, commercial and quality of life amenities that embrace the ideal natural setting of this rare coastal community are all in the works.

The City is seeking a visionary planning professional who offers experience facilitating new development and assisting promising communities with maximizing their potential. He/she must exhibit an outstanding customer orientation and the proven ability to achieve outcomes that transcend traditional approaches to development. An eye for good architectural and landscape design is also desirable. A minimum of seven (7) years of relevant planning experience with at least three (3) years of supervisory experience and a Bachelor’s degree are required. A Master’s degree and/or AICP certification is desirable.
