Re-Imagining Claiborne Avenue

A lecture organized by the Congress for the New Urbanism and the Claiborne Corridor Improvement Coalition
How can a revitalized Claiborne Avenue help residents access more opportunities? Speakers will discuss how an urban freeway removal project may influence equity and access issues. Event participants will also discuss the corridor’s impact on the larger regional transportation picture. Presenters include: Vaughn Fauria, NewCorps, Inc. and Claiborne Corridor Improvement Coalition Co-Director; Jacky Grimshaw, Center for Neighborhood Technology; and Jeff Tumlin, Nelson/Nygaard. The event will take place on Wednesday, March 21, 2012 starting with a 6 PM reception followed by a 6:30 PM lecture and discussion. The venue is Tulane University's School of Architecture, Richardson Memorial, Thompson Hall. This event is organized by the Congress for the New Urbanism and the Claiborne Corridor Improvement Coalition with support from the Ford Foundation, Greater New Orleans Foundation and Tulane University’s School of Architecture.
