I was born in a small town in the Midwest--er, New Jersey. Moved to California when it was still a nice place. UCLA and CSUN alumna, both degrees in geography. Began cycling seriously in Los Angeles, raced for awhile, moved to the San Joaquin Valley and had to give it up because it's too dangerous to ride here. Been both an environmental (and bike planning) consultant, then worked for a COG, now a municipal (land use) planner.
