Trostel Square at the Beerline

After the City of Milwaukee created a plan to connect streets and blocks through 27 riverfront acres known as the Beerline, Mandel Group followed the Beerline design guidelines to create Trostel Square, one of seven Beerline Developments. Visible down Booth Street on the bluff is Roots Restaurant, designed by Kubala Washatko Architects.  Trostel is designed by Engberg Anderson Architects. The development extends Milwaukee's Riverwalk, which has built values through public access to the riverfront.

By request, here's the ground-floor site plan for Granada Court. The development features 31 units on about .6 of an acre. It faces Union Street and Oak Knoll Avenue and backs onto a small surface parking lot serving Colorado Boulevard retailers such as Vroman's independent bookstore.

The site plan helps highlight something overlooked in the posting of the construction image: in addition to adding two residential buildings in dramatic locations on a slope overlooking the Arroyo Seco, this project restores eight historic but long-neglected bungalows by noted Pasadena architects.
