Urgent: Call your Senators TODAY to save the Partnership for Sustainable Communities

The following is an open letter from Smart Growth America President & CEO Geoff Anderson. As the letter states, the time is now for individuals to voice support in making sure that Congress maintains funding for the Partnership for Sustainable Communities:

Last week, the U.S. House of Representatives voted to strip funding for the federal Partnership for Sustainable Communities. Many of you have already written to your Senators, and your actions thus far have been an invaluable part of protecting these programs.

The Senate's vote on funding for the Partnership is scheduled to take place tomorrow, and NOW is the crucial time to ask your Senators to preserve funding for the Partnership.

Call your Senators TODAY to protect funding for the Partnership for Sustainable Communities!

Last year when the Partnership was under threat, the voices of supporters like you made a real difference and funding was preserved. Particularly at risk this time is funding for Partnership programs at the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, and we need your voice to be heard even louder.

Visit Smart Growth America's website for information about how to call your Senators' offices, as well as a suggested script to guide your conversation. Calling your Senators is simple and takes only a few minutes.

Now is the time to make sure that Congress knows we will not accept shortsighted cuts that sacrifice the health of our communities.

Please call your Senators today.
