Our Charlotte, NC office has an opportunity for a Senior Planner within our Community Development Group.
Responsibilities:
Stantec’s Urban Places Group continues to grow in Charlotte, NC. This time we are looking to add a responsible, highly-motivated person to a practice focused on regional growth studies, scenario planning, strategic plans, comprehensive plans, corridor studies, and urban analytics. A strong technical background in these areas is essential for the successful candidate, along with leadership skills and client management experience sufficient to work with UPG leadership in all phases of consulting — business development, project management, thought leadership, production resources, mentoring young staff, and professional development. The successful candidate should expect to manage projects (or portions of very large projects) from day one of employment.The Planner will work with various departments and elected officials in order to develop planning related objectives, policies, and procedures. The City recently adopted an updated Comprehensive Plan and is in the process of rewriting the Zoning and Subdivision Regulations. This position will be instrumental in ensuring new development and redevelopment is in accordance with these documents.

Qualifications:
- Bachelors or Master’s Degree in Planning
- 5-10 years’ experience working in the private sector
- Preferred candidates will have experience in ArcGIS, CommunityViz, Adobe Creative
- Suite, and Microsoft Office.
- Travel in the United States and Canada may be required to serve our clients.
