These developments used unexercised development rights or "air rights" above underutilized parcels to create much needed urban housing, accessory parking, and a replacement of the original use – parking spaces in one case and a supermarket in another. By skillfully employing a design development model that creates incentives for owners to intensify the use of their property, the architect helps to reintegrate parcels that had been eyesores into their urban neighborhoods.Read more at this project's website.
