CAMPUS ÅKROKEN, MID SWEDEN UNIVERSITY
Location: Sundsvall, Sweden. University
The project is a major university redesign, with the intention of moving accommodation out of rented property into new buildings. Rather than take the modern approach of a stand-alone campus, the university is being built as a proper urban infill based on the traditional design qualities of Sundsvall: alleys, squares, bridges, old and new houses. Part of the goal was to create an environment around which spin-off companies might locate as well. The site is on an attractive bend in the river, and the buildings refer to the Swedish storehouse traditionRead more at this project's website.
