An example of one of the modernist buildings for which Prospect is best known, this building is also a good example of something that for which Prospect deserves more attention — the easy and natural way that mixed-uses continue and taper off as one moves from the formal town center to streets of more residential character, just as they would if one were moving from a busy street to a less-busy street in a long-established neighborhood. And as you can see from the mature trees, more than a dozen years into its construction, Prospect is becoming a more established and firmly rooted place itself.

A coffee shop and wine shop with residential units above are two anchors of the village center at Prospect. With a sushi restaurant, diner and eyeglass shop included in the small retail grouping, the mixed-use center circa 2008 isn't exactly bustling but it feels intact and pretty well established. And the coffee shop certainly has customers flowing in and out all day. Construction is underway on a mixed-use building across the street.

Neighbors gather on the new front porches added to existing but deteriorated townhouses on Cary Street in Richmond, Virginia, at the edge of the historic Fan District. The redesigned houses have a fresh new face on the street and quiet interior gardens. The project was undertaken with the Richmond Better Housing Coalition.

The first new houses at Park DuValle set the stage for a stable, mixed-income, desirable neighborhood of 513 mixed-income rental and 341 homeowner units, created from what was once Louisville's most distressed neighborhood. For the first time in generations, adjacent neighborhoods are experiencing revitalization, including new retail and community services.

These plans define the urban form for a new town currently under construction in suburban New Jersey. They guide the creation of a graceful and generous civic realm, while providing each resident with access to both a regional greenbelt and neighborhood parks.

In this project, a new townhouse development is built in a historic warehouse quarter located near downtown Portland, Oregon.  These townhouses were designed to complement the scale and texture of the neighborhood’s industrial character, and provide a strong street-level presence creating a sense of community and safety.
