Duties:

Under the direct supervision of the Community Development Division Chief, this position is responsible for the review and processing of land use and other development applications. Coordinates inter-agency review of applications on behalf of the city and works closely with private sector design professionals. Communicates regularly with the public and property owners on applications, prepares staff reports, and provides presentations to boards and commissions. Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

A Bachelor’s degree in urban planning, architecture, landscape architecture, or related field and three or more years of planning, design or zoning experience or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Applicants must possess an understanding of the land use planning and land development processes. Applicants must have the ability to work with the development community and the public and to effectively analyze development projects and communicate those findings. A valid driver's license with good driving record is required. A Master’s degree in urban planning, architecture, landscape architecture, or related field and AICP certification are preferred.

Hours:

Monday - Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Evening meetings required.

Hiring Range:

$59,325 - $71,481 (City Grade 20)
