New Urbanists have been working to reform professional practice from the very beginning of the movement. Their efforts have led to significant strides in changing the way planners, architects, engineers, and developers work in every day practice. Their work has resulted in new publications, like Greyfields Into Goldfields and Codifying New Urbanism; new governmental guidelines for public housing, like HOPE VI, and a mega-scale charrette planning process after the wake of Hurricane Katrina.
