Director of LEED for Neighborhood Development
USGBC is currently seeking an engaging and experienced professional to direct and oversee the planning, development, and implementation of the LEED for Neighborhood Development program. LEED for Neighborhood Development is a relatively new LEED certification program that places greater emphasis on increasing sustainable land use and neighborhood planning practices, as well as expanding green building to the neighborhood scale. The program is currently being piloted with 240 projects nationwide, and is scheduled to be revised and fully launched over the course of the next year. Duties include working with appropriate committees and partners in a consensus-based process to refine and develop technical assessment criteria; managing staff and team workload; overseeing consultants; maintaining the integrity of the program and LEED brand; maintaining good customer service; resolving challenging issues and improving internal tools and processes; creating sound business, implementation, and staffing plans, and thinking strategically about future needs. This professional will also collaborate with USGBC staff and other stakeholders to develop and refine the related LEED for Neighborhood Development programmatic services, including educational offerings, marketing materials, an online presence, and appropriate content and channels for communication with stakeholders.

Qualifications/Skills:
Minimum 5 years management experience including work plan and budget preparation
Masters of Urban Planning, Architecture, Engineering, or related field with minimum 2 years of professional practice experience
Excellent analytical, written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking
Outstanding interpersonal skills with a relationship-building focus
Ability to manage multiple projects and staff
Financial management, procurement, and grant administration experience
Attention to detail, organizational skills and team leadership experience
Familiarity with LEED for Neighborhood Development and the principles of smart growth, new urbanist, and green building practices.
Experience in a rapidly changing organization; ability to understand and manage change; ability to multi-task in fast-paced environment.
Computer skills (MS Office: Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint)
