Submitted by zoe on Wed, 04/30/2008 - 4:26pm.
Description:
In Form-Based Codes, the zones are categorized by the intensity of physical form. A variety of organizing principles regulate the scale, form, and intensity of development rather than emphasizing land uses. Those organizing principles include the Transect, Frontages, Street- Types and Building Types. The respective organizing principles offer advantages and disadvantages in different conditions such as downtown redevelopment versus greenfields.
