Georgetown's Redding CT plan falls through

Georgetown Land Development Company’s plan to sell its 55-acre transit-oriented development in Redding, Connecticut, to a new owner, Georgetown Green LLC, has fallen through. Georgetown Land Development will look for other buyers or for investors so that the project can be built in accordance with plans that the town approved, the Weston Forum reported July 15.

The cleaned-up brownfield site, which contains an old wire mill complex, is to include a mix of residential, commercial, and retail development in renovated industrial buildings and new construction, served by a future station of Metro North Railroad. The company “is optimistic about the efforts to recapitalize the project and expects that implementation of the approved Master Plan will commence as soon as market conditions allow,” Georgetown Land said in a press release.
