Mississippi Renewal Forum
Hurricane Katrina destroyed property and lives in Mississippi. In the aftermath, step one was survival and rescue. Now Mississippians, with the leadership of Governor Haley Barbour, are starting the process of revival and renewal.
Working closely with the Governor’s Commission on Recovery, Rebuilding and Renewal, CNU assembled a skilled and experienced group of designers, planners, and other professionals from across the nation to join some of Mississippi's finest architects and planners in creating the Mississippi Rebuilding Forum. The forum is what city and town planners call a charrette, an intense collaborative meeting with local officials and other citizens to think through and plan how rebuilding shapes cities and towns. The result will be tools to help officials and citizens create places that feel like they belong in Mississippi.
