ABOUT: Working with an Architect is sponsored by the Chicago chapter of the American Institute of Architects (AIA Chicago). Recognizing that most people have never worked with an architect, AIA Chicago launched this public education series in 1994. Since then, the organization has helped hundreds of Chicago‐area homeowners gain a better understanding of whether a project requires an architect’s expertise, how to find the right architect, and what to expect during design and construction. Founded in 1869, AIA Chicago represents nearly 3,000 licensed architects, architectural interns and allied professionals in Illinois.
