End: Thu, 02/09/2012 (All day)
Location: Center for Architecture, 536 LaGuardia Place NY 10036
On February 9 Elizabeth Plater-Zyberk, FAIA will present Duany Plater-Zyberk & Company's form-based code Miami21, which won the American Planning Association's 2011 National Planning Excellence Award. The APA praised the city's "groundbreaking" new zoning code for paying "particular attention to interaction between the public and private realms, especially to encourage walkable and vibrant streetscapes."

Miami21 is the first city-wide form-based code for a major American city and marks an important milestone in the development of form-based codes because it demonstrates its applicability to older, larger cities like New York.

The presentation is jointly sponsored by CNU New YorkAIA NY and the New York Metro chapter of the APA.
