Urban Street Design Training for the Chicagoland Region
Through generous funding from The Chicago Community Trust, the Congress for the New Urbanism (CNU) is offering two one-day training sessions on the principles and practice of urban street design. These sessions are open to Illinois DOT, CMAP, planners, urban designers and local leaders in the Chicagoland area. The sessions will focus on overcoming obstacles and building strong communities around the Chicago region through the use of the CNU/ITE Designing Walkable Urban Thoroughfares manual.
Two separate sessions are being offered for specific audiences. Attend the session that’s right for you:
February 7, 2013 (9:00 to 4:00) – Illinois DOT staff and engineers (Register here)
February 8, 2013 (9:00 to 4:00)– CMAP staff, planners and local leaders (Register here)
Both sessions will be held at the CMAP offices in the Willis Tower in Chicago. A reduced registration rate is now being offered until January 25. The last day to register is February 1. Participants will get a copy of the manual, lunch, and refreshments. There are a limited number of seats, so register early.
