CNU XVI will take place at the Austin Convention Center - South Side (enter by the doors on Cesar Chavez Street or Trinity Street). The Convention Center address is 500 East Cesar Chavez Street, Austin, TX 78701. As of March 11, rooms in CNU's room block are fully sold out.
You can still book rooms in Austin via Orbitz. Remember that free shuttle buses are available within downtown Austin and to the University of Texas campus; see "Getting Around Austin" for details.
Additional hotels within walking distance of the Austin Convention Center include the Embassy Suites Hotel, Four Seasons Hotel, Hampton Inn & Suites Downtown, Hilton Hotel, Hyatt Hotel, Omni Hotel, S.F. Austin Hotel, and Sheraton Austin.
Other hotels are located along Capital Metro bus routes. A cluster of hotels near South IH-35 and U.S. 290 are along the #27 Dove Springs bus route; they include the Candlewood South, Clarion Inn & Suites, Courtyard Marriott South, Hampton Inn South, La Quinta Inn Oltorf, and Wyndham Garden Inn.
Why you should stay in CNU contracted hotels
Each year CNU contracts a block of rooms at a variety of hotels for the participants of the Annual Meeting. In order to secure sleeping rooms at a lower rate, CNU must guarantee that a certain number of those rooms are filled by meeting attendees each night. If we fail to occupy these rooms, CNU is forced to pay a fee to compensate the lost profit of the hotel. Not reaching our guarantees at the hotels not only will cost CNU but the members and attendees as well. To compensate, CNU would have to raise the registration fees for the meetings, spend less on member services and have limited space at future destinations to convene our Annual Meeting. To allow CNU to continue to add value to the meeting, it is imperative that participants of the CNU Annual Meeting stay at contracted hotels.
