Each year CNU contracts a block of rooms at a variety of hotels for the participants of the Annual Meeting. In order to secure sleeping rooms at a lower rate, CNU must guarantee that a certain number of those rooms are filled by meeting attendees each night. If we fail to occupy these rooms, CNU is forced to pay a fee to compensate the lost profit of the hotel. Not reaching our guarantees at the hotels not only will cost CNU but the members and attendees as well. To compensate, CNU would have to raise the registration fees for the meetings, spend less on member services and have limited space at future destinations to convene our Annual Meeting. To allow CNU to continue to add value to the meeting, it is crucial that participants of the CNU Annual Meeting stay at contracted hotel.
