CNU 18 in the News
CNU 18 is creating news in Atlanta and around the world. Here you'll find a brief review of some of the coverage:

David Byrne to Speak at Congress for New Urbanism Panel in May
"“If I were David Byrne,” sang Brad Roberts of the Crash Test Dummies, “I’d go to galleries and not be too concerned.” Thing is, though, David Byrne is concerned—specifically about modern life and the way we build cities...“Riding his bicycles through the cities of the world… David Byrne is out front among the voices from diverse worlds who are seeing connections between how we build neighborhoods, how we get around and how well we live,” says John Norquist, CNU President and CEO.

David Byrne to help kick off Atlanta new urbanism conference
"Byrne, a well-known lover of velocipedes, will surely offer some splendid non-wonk insight about how mobility can enhance one’s life. (His recent book Bicycle Diaries chronicles the musician’s two-wheeled tours through some of the world’s great cities — and how those jaunts changed the way he views the places we live, work and play.) We’re tempted to try and coax Byrne into joining us on a lazy tour of Atlanta’s hellish roads, but are afraid his fans would forever despise us for putting his life in danger. We’re still gonna try, though.
As my muse Ken Edelstein correctly states, the May 19-22 conference is a huge get for Atlanta. Organized in cooperation with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the summit will feature some of the nation’s top thinkers when it comes to smart growth. Maybe some of those intelligent folks could give Atlanta (and Georgia) the solid jab it needs to start getting its act together."

CNU 18 gets attention of Atlanta environmental community
Local bloggers and allies in our host city of Atlanta are getting ready for CNU18. Journalist Ken Edelstein and his environmental news site My Green ATL is one such example.
Edelstein had warm words for CNU18 honorary chair Dr. Howard Frumkin.
“[I] know him more as that rare breed of world-class scientist who isn’t afraid to speak English and at the same time take a passionate, humanist approach to his work. In other words, he cares about environmental impacts in the real world and tries to do something about them.”
My Green ATL is a new site "geared toward informing and empowering Atlantans who care about our environment and who want to improve our community’s quality of life."
