Continuing Education Credits

AICP Certification Maintenance (CM) credits

CNU is an official certified AICP CM provider. The list of sessions and the number of credit associated with each session will be posted on this page in March 2009.

To claim your credits, please go to the APA website, sign in and self-report the sessions you attended.

Continuing Education Credits for Landscape Architects

This year again, most landscape architects will be able to acquire CEC at CNU 17. You will need to self-report your attendance to your state. Most states accept the self-reporting system however a few (such as Florida, New York and Pennsylvania) might not. Most states will require a certificate of attendance listing the sessions attended and the number of credits acquired. In order to provide you with this certificate, CNU will send you an electronic form to fill out after the congress and will subsequently send you the certificate.

AIA Continuing Education Units

CNU is registered with the American Institute of Architects' Continuing Education System (AIA/CES) to provide learning units at a ratio of one credit per hour of instruction. Most sessions receive AIA credits; many qualify for Health, Safety & Welfare credits to architects. A list of sessions receiving AIA credits will be posted on this page in March 2009. It will indicate which sessions get CEU credit as well as HSW credit.

The AIA Continuing Education Systems Committee has implemented new procedures for registering and reporting credit for conference sessions. At each session where a credit is offered, the attendees seeking the credits are required to fill out the session's sign-up sheet providing their complete name and AIA number. Attendees are required to attend the session for which they are seeking the credit. CNU will then report the attendance lists to the AIA for credit allocation. CNU is required to report to the AIA within 2 weeks of the end of the conference.

Please note that you MUST write down your name and AIA number on the session sign-up form in order to receive credit for the sessions. Once the session is over and the sign-up sheet is removed from the room; we cannot add your name to the sign-up sheet, as we cannot prove that you were present. No exceptions.

If you have questions about AIA CES credits, please consult AIA's FAQ.

AIA Certificate of Completion

Architects who are not AIA members can receive a certificate of completion for the sessions you attend which receive AIA credits to submit to their states of registration. In order to receive a certificate, you will need to fill out an online request form by June 24, 2009. The online request form will be available on this website after the Congress.
