CNU seeks proposals from groups interested in forming a Local Host Committee and hosting CNU 25 in 2017. Interested groups should compile the information requested below and submit it to the Congress for the New Urbanism by September 8, 2014.
CNU's Annual Congress brings together the nation's leading architects, planners, public officials, non-profit professionals, academics, researchers, environmentalists and developers dedicated to reshaping sprawl and restoring our urban centers. The Congress ideally should be located in a city of no less than 200,000, and the venue should be located in a downtown setting that is transit-accessible and in or near a vibrant, walkable neighborhood. Full requirements are available in the full RFP.
CNU 25 in 2017 will mark the 25th Congress since CNU was founded in 1993. This anniversary Congress will bring the brightest minds, creatives and New Urbanists seen yet! Will you help us make CNU 25 a momentous event?
Proposals will be reviewed by CNU staff and semi-finalists will be invited to Dallas (October 16-18) to present their proposals to CNU's Board of Directors. Proposal submitters will be notified no later than the week of September 22, 2014, if their presence is requested in Dallas. All proposal submitters will be notified of their proposal status by October 30, 2014. The selected proposal should be prepared to start planning immediately, which includes being prepared to sign the MOU with CNU, create a fundraising plan, and form the required committees.
