CNU Colorado | Wheat Ridge's Main Street ‐ A Transformation in Progress

Join CNU Colorado on Wednesday, September 18th, 2013 for a tour and talk with experts who are transforming 38th Avenue in Wheat Ridge, just west of Denver. A road diet, tactical urbanism, economic development and partnerships are all components of the regeneration of Wheat Ridge’s main street.

CNU New York | CNU New York Regional Summit In Syracuse

Please join CNU New York for their Regional Summit in Syracuse. This event will promote CNU 22 in the New York State Capital Region with an emphasis on Community Planning, Agricultural Urbanism and the future of I-81.
CNU New York’s Regional Summit in Syracuse will address the relationship of urban planning to urgent economic development topics in central New York, as well as regional issues that affect our villages and towns (including the City of Syracuse, specifically).
Expect a relaxed program with plenty of time for conversation, organizing, and networking. There will be an audience-participatory discussion with our local and expert speakers Saturday afternoon. Early bird registration closes on September 27, 2013.
CNU Central Texas | Are We Planning For The New Reality?

Join CNU-CTX in Austin for a thought-provoking conversation with planning visionary Mitchell Silver on the value of planning and creative place-making, along with expert advice for Austin as the city rewrites its Land Development Code.
The CNU-CTX annual luncheon and fundraiser will feature speaker Mitchell Silver, immediate past president of the American Planning Association and Chief Planning & Development Officer for Raleigh, North Carolina. Mr. Silver is an award-winning planner with over 28 years of public and private sector experience. He is internationally recognized for his leadership in the planning profession and his contributions to contemporary planning issues.
During the luncheon, participants will contemplate if the right questions are being asked in regards to the real future needs of towns and cities, particularly in light of the rapid growth of Central Texas. Participants will also examine the specific considerations that Austin needs to address as it rewrites its Land Development Code.
Friday, October 18, 2013 - 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM
Come join fellow urbanists for the inaugarual CNU Ontario event in Ontario's wine country. This event will include a walking tour of a Duany Plater-Zyberk master planned community, followed by a reception at Jackson-Triggs Winery. During the tour, the developer will share the evolution of the project from charrette to construction. You will see first-hand how New Urbanism is juxtaposed against the adjacent suburban model of development and compare for yourself. Afterwards, a reception will be held at Jackson-Triggs Winery where our keynote speaker will discuss the successes and challenges facing Niagara Region from the local level to the bi-national Buffalo/Niagara level. Attendees will have an opportunity to network and enjoy hors d'oeuvres and wine tasting from Jackson Trigg's cellars.
