The time is now for the 2012 CNU Transportation Summit

The 2012 CNU Transportation Summit will begin at 2pm, Sunday September 9th, in the Naples Ballroom of the Renaissance Long Beach Hotel.

The Summit is a chance to directly challenge the limitations of the Functional Classification System as it applies to urban areas. It's where real reform happens and new paradigms are discovered.

For those attending, please be sure to review the most up-to-date Transportation Summit Agenda and come ready to participate and debate in small working groups, focusing on:

  • Transit Networks
  • Highways to Boulevards
  • Transportation Reform Research Agenda
  • Regional Policy and Functional Classification Reform
  • Transportation Modeling Reform
  • Bikeway Networks
  • Street Vitality Index
  • Advance reading materials for the working groups is available now by clicking here.

(Scroll under "Recommend Reading." Note: All registrants will receive a copy of the Sustainable Street Network Principles booklet in their welcome packet.) And for more information on how to get ready for all things Summit, please click here.

The 2012 CNU Transportation Summit will make history and build off of the previous accomplishments and work conceived and completed by Summit groups, such as the Sustainable Street Network Principles and the CNU/ITE Designing Walkable Urban Thoroughfares manual.

Even if you can't join CNU in Long Beach, you can follow the Summit on Twitter with the hashtags "#CNUtransposummit" and "aashtoblackflag" (in honor of the most heralded band of SST Records, formerly headquarted at Charter Award-winning site 4th & Linden, home to this year's Summit Reception) and on the CNU Salons.
