Registration Open: CNU Transportation Summit and CSS Workshop, Nov. 16-18 in Boulder, Colo.
Join CNU in Boulder, Colo., for our annual Transportation Summit this November 17 & 18. The Summit will be preceded by a Context-Sensitive Solutions Workshop on November 16. Early registration for both events ends October 27.
CNU's 2006 Transportation Summit will bring together CNU members to advance transportation reform in communities across the country. This year we will focus on transportation modeling and street and place design. Participants should expect a high level of dialogue. The summit will use examples from the host city of Boulder to showcase innovations in pedestrian science, transit planning, parking and street design. The summit will simultaneously inspire and challenge participants. Come see how reform can look on the ground in one of the most advanced cities in the country. Come challenge yourself to think about and develop solutions to some of the most critical issues facing transportation professionals today.
The CSS Workshop will focus on the new road design manual authored by leading urban planners and transportation engineers to help communities create streets that build character and long-term value. Workshop participants will learn about changing standards in street design, the impacts of street design on a community, how to work with public works officials and DOTs, and key urban design features that support a strong community. Participants will also receive a free copy of the new manual, "Context Sensitive Solutions in Designing Major Urban Thoroughfares for Walkable Communities," produced by the Institute of Transportation Engineers and CNU.
Register Online for both events. Register for the Summit by October 27 and receive a $10 gift certificate to the CNU online store.
